CDL Driver / Delivery

Driving & delivery

• Deliver pallets of fresh-cut sod to homeowner, landscaper, builder, and sports turf job sites
• Work to the cut and delivery schedule so sod reaches the customer fresh
• Unload safely and place pallets where the crew needs them
• Represent the farm well with customers on site

Equipment & safety

• Complete daily vehicle inspection reports
• Keep the truck, trailer, and forklift clean and in safe working order
• Wear and maintain required safety equipment
• Report any accident, damage, or mechanical issue the same day

Paperwork

• Keep delivery tickets and signatures accurate and complete
• Keep license, medical card, and vehicle permits current

Requirements

• Valid Texas CDL — Class A or B, matched to the truck and trailer on your route
• At least 21 years old for routes crossing state lines; 18 for routes that stay inside Texas
• Current medical examiner’s certificate from an examiner on the FMCSA National Registry, renewed at least every two years
• Medical certificate and self-certification category on file with Texas DPS
• No air brake (L) restriction if your assigned truck has air brakes
• Clean motor vehicle record
• Pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and stay in the random testing pool
• Registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, and able to consent to a pre-employment full query and annual checks
• Forklift experience, or willingness to be trained
• Able to work outdoors in Texas heat and lift repeatedly
• Dependable, on time, and straightforward with customers
• Early starts through the growing season
